Benefits of Melamine Closets and Cabinets

Inexpensive

Melamine is much less expensive than the use of traditional hardwoods.  It also provides a consistent quality for construction that is not possible when purchasing real wood for construction purposes.  In addition, as an alternative to plywood, melamine can be less expensive too, especially when you take into account the peeling and warping, which can render plywood unsuitable for many projects where craftsmanship and quality are paramount.

Forest Friendly

Melamine is a great alternative to solid wood because of its sustainable development.  Melamine helps to conserve natural hardwoods and endangered forests by the reclamation of wood fibers and debris.  Additionally, the use of fast growing softwoods in boards and panels saves naturally growing forests.  Using melamine for construction of closets systems and cabinets is both financially and environmentally responsible.  If the recycling nature in the production process wasn't enough to make melamine a clear alternative, increasingly stringent requirements, demanded by the growing markets for this material, have resulted in regulated lower formaldehyde emissions in the urea resins that are necessary for the production of melamine panels, both inside and outside the United states.

Colors and Styles

On top of being a responsible and inexpensive alternative to solid-wood and plywood, melamine is available in a wide array and assortment of different colors, making it an ideal choice for custom closets or cabinets.  The style versatility with different wood grain patterns and textures compound and compliment the color possibilities that the melamine has to offer.

Strong

Melamine is strong and durable, and in many cases more structurally sound than ordinary particle board or plywood.  The consistent and uniform production process provides long lasting reliability as opposed to the natural warping and bowing of other random materials.  The glue used in manufacturing melamine creates a water resistant barrier.  For this reason, it is commonly used in furniture production and flooring as a particle board or plywood substitute.
