The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association hosted their annual golf tournament at Woodmont Golf Club in Canton this past August. A full field of players arrived bright and early, and the weather called for light rain and threatening skies. The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association is a not-for-profit, professional trade association which was formed in 1945 to boost and secure the home building industry in Atlanta. Each year, they hold a golf tournament event for their dedicated members. The tournament destination, Woodmont Golf Club, is considered a premier golf destination in the state of Georgia offering outstanding landscape, architecture and an overall top-notch golf experience. The tournament held a "scramble" format, meaning that each person on every team would tee off, and the team would then play from the best shot until a putt was made. Although the scramble format is meant to eliminate pressure and leave room for fun, the team from Artisan Custom Closets had high expectations for themselves. Their team birdied the first five holes and was on a great run. The birdies slowed towards the middle of the round, but they were able to pick back up at the end and finish at 14 under par. The awards dinner at the end of the tournament was hosted by none other than Artisan Custom Closets. The food was a hit, the hole sponsors had great gift giveaways for all of the players, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Sad to say, the Artisan's team score of 14 under only got them fourth place. However, the inclement weather conditions that disrupted the morning hours held off to allow for an overall enjoyable Monday of golf and a great time at the awards dinner.
